Dance It Out

Sometimes we can get so bogged down with expectations and living up to external images of who we are supposed to be that we forget to just BE. I finished reading Shonda Rhimes’ My Year of Yes (one of the books on my 2017 read list) a little while ago. In the book, she talks about the importance of “dancing it out.” Whenever Christina and Meredith would go through a tough time or just needed a moment of release on Grey’s Anatomy, they would dance it out. I’ve been trying to dance it out myself for the last few weeks and let me tell you it definitely helps. On those days when you feel like screaming at the top of your lungs, throw on some good music and get to shaking.

I styled this casual daytime look recently. This outfit is a perfect option to wear to lecture when I want to be comfortable and a little cute. A girl can only wear jeans and sweats to class so often. I would also wear this to the mall or movies as a casual hangout look. Even though it’s pretty hot during the day now, nighttime can still be a bit cool so I wrapped this flannel around my waist. I found it in the men’s section during a thrifting expedition for $5. Talk about a steal! When the wind starts to blow I can pull it on for another layer.
